Do you freak out when you look into your makeup bag?
If you are in Perth then I am a makeup artist who can help teach you to become more confident with your own makeup routine! If you do have a lesson scheduled here are some tips so you get the most out of your one-on-one lesson!
Come to your lesson with a clean face.
Try to come to your appointment with a clean face or only wear minimal makeup. A full face of makeup – especially with all the long-wearing makeup that is around today, can take quite a bit of time for your makeup artist to remove and can cut into your precious one-on-one fun time!
What do and don’t you like?
You don’t need to know exact look you want to learn, you and your makeup artist can design a look for you, but – it is handy knowing what you DONT like. Almost everyone has worn some sort of makeup in the past when they thought “ugh this is not me”. Me personally – I hate too much blush or bright pink lipsticks, because my cheeks flush a lot throughout the day and I feel those two products accentuate the pinkness in my skin LOL!
Be prepared to give it a go!
With a one-on-one makeup lesson the makeup artist will do half your face, and you will do the other half. Step-by-step. This is the BEST way to learn. Don’t be worried that you might not get it right. The makeup artist is there to help guide you, teach you how to hold your brush etc. If your reallllly worried about “stuffing up” – which you shouldn’t be, maybe don’t book your lesson on a super important date – i.e. your wedding. But really you shouldn’t be worried. Your makeup artist can always touch up at the end if you wish.
Do you want to use your products?
If you have brought a whole heap of products that you don’t know how to use, bring those to your appointment and your makeup artist can teach you how to use those and incorporate them into your look. If you want to try all new recommendations and different products, that is great also as your artist will have a big selection for your to play with.
